Starting a lawn
From the house in every direction was dirt, just waiting for winter and spring rains to become sticky mud.
Fill dirt delivered to the front yard contained numerous rocks and assorted debris. Over time the most offensive pieces had been raked out, but we still need to level it and rake out some smaller rocks.
At first we loaded three or four rolls of sod onto a small wagon and tugged it to the next place for laying.
As we worked further from the pallets of sod, we tired of pulling the wagon. AH! The tractor has a bucket and could haul ten rolls. I loaded the sod into the bucket and drove to the next spot. There I laid each roll out as Maura placed it properly. Using it cut down our installation time by more than a half. After ten or so trips we had placed two pallets of sod in half a day.
(I knew that tractor would be good for more than moving dirt!)
Now our house was looking more like home.
