Timberland (modular) homes
Timberland Homes has been manufacturing modular (not "manufactured" or "mobile") homes for more than 40 years. The company provides standard floor plans that can be customized to a buyer's preferences. We chose the Roche Harbor plan, with choices made from a range of selections of superior finishes and accessories.
Their homes are called modular because:
- They are quality, stick-built homes
- They are built offsite at the Timberland facility
- They are built as a unit, but as modules so that they can be separated individually for transit (Our house came in four modules.)
We chose Timberland modular homes because they are better than a typical stick-built home. Each home has about 30 percent more lumber Exterior wall framing is using 2 by 6 studs on 16 inch centers. Each home has a 15-year structural warranty.
Timberland provides guaranteed pricing, with no cost overruns, taking advantage of contract pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Every home is built to satisfy local and iinternational building codes, just like a conventional site-built home. See https://timberland-homes.com/timberland/advantages/ for details
